Individual Psychotherapy (18+)

Adult psychotherapy grounded in a cognitive-behavioral foundation — drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT-informed skills, REBT, and behavioral principles, tailored to the person in the room.

Approach

Therapy works best when it's tailored to the person in the room — not applied as a rigid formula. Dr. Morrison works with adults 18 and older using a cognitive-behavioral foundation, drawing on established and evidence-supported approaches including CBT, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT-informed skills, REBT, and behavioral principles. The specific approach is shaped by what you're dealing with and what the research suggests is most effective for it.

Common focus areas

  • Anxiety — generalized worry, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, and the exhaustion of a nervous system that rarely feels at rest.
  • ADHD in adulthood — practical strategies for executive functioning, emotional regulation, and the relational and occupational challenges that often go unaddressed after diagnosis.
  • Depression — including low mood, anhedonia, and the particular kind of flatness that doesn't always look the way people expect depression to look.
  • Grief and loss — whether recent or long-carried, expected or sudden.
  • Adjustment & life transitions — career changes, relationship shifts, health diagnoses, identity questions, and the disorientation that can accompany major life change at any age.

The work

The work here is grounded and goal-oriented without being superficial. Dr. Morrison takes seriously both the evidence base and the fact that you are a specific person with a specific history — not a case study. Sessions are a space to think more clearly, build skills that transfer to real life, and develop a more workable relationship with the experiences that have been getting in the way. If you've had a neuropsychological evaluation — here or elsewhere — that context can inform and enrich the therapeutic work where relevant.
